Here we go again... The NCAA just continues to amaze me with their rulings. Did you see what they did to Memphis? They vacated their 38 wins from 2008. Stripped them of their championship game appearance. I guess it's a good thing they lost that game, or who knows what would have happened. The NCAA is saying that Memphis used an ineligible player for the entire season. They did not name the player, but rumor is that it's Derrick Rose. I have no problem with the NCAA stripping all those wins and stuff from Memphis. What I have a problem with is the fact that nothing is done to Rose or to coach John Calipari. Rose went on to be the number one pick in the draft with a multi million dollar contract. Calipari left Memphis to take a huge contract from Kentucky. They both walk away clean, no blood on their hands. There's something wrong with this. Do you think that Rose knew what he did was wrong? He went from Chicago to Detroit to take his SAT test. Who does that??? There was a booster for Memphis that arranged all of that and got him a shady score. Do you think Calipari knew nothing of this?
This is the second final four trip that Calipari teams have been stripped of. His 1995 (I think) U Mass team was also stripped for using a player that had made contact with an agent. Memphis also had a previous final four appearance stripped from them.
Because of all of this, Memphis has to pay back all the money they received from Conference USA revenue sharing. This is where I think that Memphis should be able to go after the ineligible athlete and the coach that allowed him to play. I think they should be able to go after them criminally to get back that money that they have to return. I also think that, if that ineligible athlete was Derrick Rose, that he should man up and offer to pay it back to the school since he's now in the NBA making buckets full of money. Calipari is a dirt bag and I would not expect him to do anything, but he should. That's why I think the school needs to press charges against him.
W.A.S.P. is on XM again. Cool.
Do you think the Tigers should have retired #23 for Willie Horton?
Can't decide if I like the new Paramore single, or not.
